DISOP Philippines in Tacloban City has been operating as a coordinating office for the various projects it had implemented together with other non-government organizations in the Philippines.   DISOP started its operation in the Philippines in 1998 with projects all over the country.  For 18 years DISOP Philippines shared knowledge and experiences in the sustainable and holistic development of communities, with environmental (both coastal and terrestrial) and biodiversity conservation, integrated natural resource management, capability building of POs/NGOs, and providing opportunities for livelihood and employment.

DISOP PHILIPPINES FOUNDATION, INC. (DISOP Philippines) is a non-stock, non-profit, non-government organization registered in the Philippines under the Securities and Exchange Commission with registration number C-199900574.    It supports community-initiated development programs, which are based on economically sustainable, ecologically-sound, and gender-responsive development efforts.  It aims to achieve this through financial assistance and multi-level capability building in partnership with people’s organizations (POs) with the end view of improving the quality of life of poor communities.

DISOP Philippines is run by a seven-member Board of Trustees with diverse expertise and nationalities. It was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission in 1999.
