March 2008 their dream to have their own lobster production was realized through the livelihood technical trainings and financial assistance. The fund is a loan assistance given by the DIDF under Melgar Bay Development Project for Coastal Communities provided by DISOP Philippines. With the Php10,000 first loan releases given by the DIDF they established 10×8-feet lobster cage with 30 pieces lobster fingerlings. In March 2009 the price per kilo of lobster reach up to Php2,800 in Surigao market. They gained Php40,000. The profit were used in repairing their house and a rolling capital for their own livelihood. In year 2010 the family gained Php53,000.00, the income used for the creation of theadditional lobster cage, home improvement and for farm crops production.
Today, the Income Generating Project of the family imparted changes in their lives, from simple nipa hut type to a concrete type of housing made of hollow blocks and cement. They are also able to buy some appliances. Ms. Bebe also shared the blessings to her sister Lucila Alparo, married with 5 children. She gives Php5,000.00 as the starting capital for their lobster production.
